Sharing a Public Link

This resource is here to help you share a free public link for an online course.

A few reasons why you might want to share a free public link:

Giving away free course content to share as a taster or value add .
Offering a ‘how-to’ guide or demo for customers using your product.
Basic training for clients or employees.

To get started, be sure you’ve already created and published your course. When you publish your course, you have the option to either start a class or create a public link (allowing people to access your course content for free via a shareable link) — we’ll be doing the latter.

From your Content page, select the course you would like to create a public link for.

Hit the green share button in the upper right hand corner.
You’ll be able to toggle your course to make it either public or for classes. Make sure your course access is set to public.
Copy the full Steppit link and share. And that’s it!
If you don’t want your course to be discoverable by anyone other than those you share the link with, you can hide your course from your channel page. Navigate to the share button again and you will see a visibility option. Toggle the Hide from my Channel button.

It’s worth noting that when you publish a course with a free public link, there is no class functionality on offer. We recommend you check out these features and consider them for an enhanced learning experience. Read more here.
