Pretty much every skill you have, you probably learned by doing it – from your first steps as a baby to every skill you use in your career. But most online courses seem to involve a lot of sitting and watching lectures, and not a lot of action – why is that? Here at Steppit, we’re not really sure…

Lectures were invented to let one person teach a roomful of people at once, and most online courses follow the same structure in video form. Videos can be an amazing source of inspiration and are a great way to build knowledge, but you can’t learn a new skill by only watching someone say or do something. You have to experience it yourself.

Steppit was born from the idea that online teaching can be better. We’re rethinking the way that skills are taught online.
